The library rises 23.7 meters high, spanning a total construction area of 40,000 square meters. Embracing a concrete thin shell structure at the south gate, the library presents a striking yet simplistic image, symbolizing the main entrance to the campus. Rather than imposing its presence through sheer height, the design integrates the library seamlessly into the campus axis, fostering a multi-directional teaching-living context.

Integration and Openness

Responding to the campus’s overall planning context, the library emerges at the center, facilitating the convergence of campus airflow, pedestrian flow, and landscape flow. The architectural form incorporates self-shading elements to mitigate direct sun exposure, while horizontal long windows enhance insulation performance. Functional Components

The library is organized into three main systems: the “structural core,” the “cabin reading room,” and the “cloud hall.” The structural core houses bookstores and vertical transportation, providing essential support.
