ANArKH Café & Restaurant: A Cultural Oasis in Uijeongbu, South Korea

Nestled in the vibrant Gosan district of Uijeongbu, ANArKH Café & Restaurant stands as a testament to cultural integration, blending café culture, culinary delights, and artistry under one roof. Designed by Simplex Architecture in collaboration with Studio Eccentric for interior design and Rhuan for landscape architecture, this sprawling cultural complex spans 7982 m², offering a multifaceted experience to visitors.

Harmonizing with Nature

Situated amidst burgeoning residential developments and nestled against a lush green belt zone, ANArKH Café & Restaurant seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. The building’s simple rectangular mass features a glass façade facing south and east, providing unobstructed views of the adjacent forest. In contrast, solid walls cloak the north and west façades, offering respite from the urban landscape while preserving a connection to nature.

Engaging Entry Experience

Approaching the café, visitors are greeted by the northwest façade adorned with yellow granite stone, evoking the impression of a colossal natural stone block. Ascending the stairs on the northeast side, the building gradually unveils itself, culminating in a breathtaking panoramic view from the top. Inside, expansive windows blur the boundary between interior and exterior, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the surrounding greenery.

Multi-Level Culinary and Cultural Journey

Spanning five floors, ANArKH Café & Restaurant offers a diverse range of experiences. The first three floors house unique café concepts, each boasting distinct interior designs to captivate visitors as they ascend. A reflective pool on the first floor, coupled with planterior arrangements on the second floor, creates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. The highlight of the complex is the duplex café theater on the second and third floors, serving as a cultural hub for art, music, and exhibitions.

Elevated Dining Experience

The fourth and fifth floors are dedicated to fine dining, with the fifth floor featuring a rooftop landscape for VIP guests seeking privacy. Throughout the restaurant floors, guests can savor exquisite cuisine while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

ANArKH Café & Restaurant epitomizes the convergence of culinary artistry, cultural exploration, and environmental harmony, offering a sanctuary where visitors can escape the urban hustle and immerse themselves in a world of gastronomic and artistic delights.
