In 2022, studio ondrejbelica transformed former medical practices within a historic building in Frýdek-Místek’s square into a shared studio space. This 120 m² area now serves as a multifunctional hub, incorporating a hair salon, an architectural-sculptural studio, and a residential floor, all crafted with their own resources.

Utilizing Sustainable Materials and Personal Touches

The studio’s core features are wooden structures constructed from cost-effective materials like roof battens, spruce boards, polycarbonate, and steel profiles. As the interior was realized for personal use, many elements and details were born during construction.

Central Motifs and Design Elements

A striking motif within the salon is the triangle, serving as a stage, a suspended LED light, and a mobile object with mirrors and a reception area. Original paintings adorn the main wall, complemented by solid spruce wood shelves and stainless steel work surfaces. A lattice structure divides the space into functional zones, including a vaulted multifunctional room and a workshop with a wooden shelving system.

Bringing Nature Indoors

Inspired by their mountain cottage lifestyle, the team meticulously selected, processed, and assembled every piece of wood, imbuing the space with a rustic charm. Local materials sourced from small companies were employed, with friends and family lending a hand during challenging times.

Handcrafted Furniture and Sustainability

Every piece of furniture in the studio was created by the team, except for a few adopted items like chairs and a sofa. Flowers, many of which were adopted, add a touch of natural beauty. The collaborative effort over three months fostered a sense of unity and closeness within the team, reflecting in the welcoming atmosphere designed to make visitors feel at ease.
